A lot of surprising things happen in Gagauzia. The East European Accuracy Cup (EEAC) is a series of five parachute competitions held in accuracy landing in five countries: Bulgaria, Moldova, Poland, Romania, and Hungary. This year, 2018, the first competition took place in the beautiful city of Avderma (a Gagauz village).

Victory Day in Comrat
Victory Day is a holiday that commemorates the surrender of Nazi Germany on 9 May, 1945. Comrat celebrates this day in two diverse ways. In the morning, in procession, the inhabitants of Comrat go to the tomb of the unknown soldier where, after a mass and a minute of silence, they place flowers. At dusk, children and adults enjoy free food and drink accompanied by live music.
